A BEAUTIFUL MIND DOCUMENTARY
I was rather taken aback upon a request to partake in A Beautiful Mind, a film documentary on the warped perception of beauty in youths today, directed and produced by a few students from Temasek Poly. I'm usually behind the lens and interviewing others, so its quite awkward to see myself in a filmed interview instead. Despite that, I'm thankful for this rare opportunity these budding filmmakers gave me, where I can share my personal opinions about beauty. Though I've subconsciously used lots of 'um's throughout the interview (bad bad habit of mine), the film turned out really good, really impressive! Congrats on completion Justin and team!

TRAVEL PACK: 14-20 CELSIUS
Part of my mind is thinking about thesis writing and final year project, I'm also thinking my trip to Hong Kong in less than 2 weeks! While this trip isn't entirely a vacation (it is a school trip for industry exposure as my lecturers put it), I'm taking it as part of my grad trip since I won't be having any vacation plans after I complete school till later this year, although I'll have to bring my laptop there to write my thesis.
The cooler weather of forecasted 14-20 degree celsius will be a great opportunity to dress up a little than usual, and I'm starting to plan what I should bring there: the hat I bought from my previous trip there, H&M mens scarf I got on a sale and never got a chance to wear it because I did not go for a winter vacation since I bought it, N's film camera on top of my Canon dslr. Not to forget, when in HK its time to indulge in amazing dim sum (and then return home to shed the fats off) and immerse in another Chinese culture. It would be my second time there and I'm excited – Hong Kong is definitely a place you would want to visit again if you've been there once. Agree?

PACKING SATURDAY
It's a catch up on your work Saturday for me today, and also took this time to pack my room a little bit (but my work desk is still piled with papers, books and magazines). Last week I went for my 6th ship visit in the span of less than a year – Logos Hope, a Christian missionary ship that sails across the world to spread the love and word of God! There was a floating book store onboard, and I got The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but I honestly doubt I'd be able to find time to start on it in the next few months given I've lots of articles and academic readings waiting for me to study.
Above the book is a cross stitch handwork my mom made when I was a baby which is really precious to me. It was only during this packing, I noticed the scents I'm using are running out soon. I prefer scents that are not too strong (my nose is quite sensitive), light but not too faint. It is time to hunt for for new suitable scents or I should customise my own? But that might cost a bomb. I've been wanting to check out the smell of Helvetica, The scent of nothing but if it's not available in Singapore, I won't be taking the risk to purchase it online. Any scents recommendation?

NOT SO, LITTLE BLACK DRESS
I know it isn't that nice to be in full black during visitations of the Chinese Lunar New Year. For non Chinese, black is deemed inauspicious to Chinese (I'm not superstitious and wore full black last year too) but I'll learn to avoid wearing full black on this colourful occasion, as a respect to elders next year onwards.
The past week saw me brain wrecking to finalise my thesis topic and final year project concept, while I was on family visitings. As my workload is increasing week by week for the next 2.5 months, I'm not sure how consistent I will be in updating this blog but I will try my best! So bear with me while I 'jagar' (cope) various commitments. Now I gotta return to microsoft word to write my thesis abstract (inserts a whining emoticon).
